Notes:

  • Mobility isn’t Flexibility. Mobility is active range of motion while flexibility is passive range of motion. Mobility is dependent upon strength.

  • Muscle guarding is the tightening of muscles surrounding a joint which is unsupported causing stiffness and sometimes pain.

  • Real strength means stability and control through an entire range of motion.

  • Strength isn’t just the ability to produce force but also to control it

  • Positional strength is important to understand to prevent injury and to improve results.

  • More range of motion means more muscle growth (Sliding filament theory)
